Built by a rental operator, for rental operators

Fleetwire started as the software my wife and I needed to run our own Tesla rental business. Today it runs fleets for independent operators across the country.

From one rental fleet to the software behind many

My wife Min and I moved from North Carolina to San Diego in a 2008 Pontiac. I spent months building a slide deck to convince her that a Tesla Model S could pay for itself if we shared it on Turo. It did, and a Model X followed. That became FrunkYea Tesla Rentals.

The more we rented, the more the business ran on a patchwork: a marketplace for some bookings, texts and spreadsheets for the rest, and a lot of hoping the renter in front of us was who they said they were. I'm a software engineer by background, with years building systems at Fidelity and MetLife, so I started building the tool we needed: a booking site with our own brand, ID checks and deposits built into checkout, agreements signed before the keys change hands, and one calendar that kept Turo and direct bookings from colliding.

That tool became Fleetwire. Other operators started asking for it, and today it powers independent rental businesses of every kind, from exotic cars to camper vans, trailers and golf carts.

FrunkYea is where every Fleetwire feature was tested first, with more than 1,100 bookings run through it. That's why it's built for the parking lot, not just the desk.

What we believe about running a rental business

  1. Your repeat renters shouldn't cost you 30%

Marketplaces are a great way to find new renters. Paying them a cut every time the same renter comes back isn't. Fleetwire helps you take those bookings direct, on a storefront that's yours.

  2. Going direct shouldn't mean giving up trust

ID verification, insurance checks and deposits are on every plan, and signed agreements start on Standard. They're the reason renters and operators trust marketplaces, so they come standard, never as upsells.

  3. Pricing should be published and honest

Our prices are on the website, with no setup fees and no commission. Our comparison pages say plainly when another product is the better fit.
